Adult RefinementAdult LessonsThis course is for adults and teenagers ages 15+ who are comfortable in the water and ready to start perfecting stroke technique! The class is designed to help participants understand the mechanics of swimming by working on kicking efficiency, freestyle pull technique, backstroke, and breaststroke. Adult Spanish for Travel (Live Online Class)Languages & TravelDo you have future aspirations for traveling to a Spanish speaking country? - If so, this is the class for you! Participants learn basic conversation skills to get around a Spanish-speaking country with greater ease. This class will include helpful dialogue, greetings, how to barter at a market and order in a restaurant, and how to ask for simple directions. Each class will include a travel related theme to practice real world Spanish! Like all Futura classes, a dynamic and interactive approach will be used to keep the class fun and exciting! Air Dry Pottery ClubCreative ArtsJoin us for a month of hands-on fun in the Air-Dry Pottery Club, where students will explore the art of sculpting and crafting with clay! Each day of this four-session club offers a new creative project, from animal figures and pinch pots to nature prints and imaginative creatures. Students will learn basic clay techniques, express their creativity, and make unique masterpieces they can proudly take home. No kilns needed–just imagination, fun, and clay-covered hands!This enrichment class is offered in partnership with our school-age care program, Friendship Connection, which helps us keep costs low while providing engaging before- and after-school opportunities. Alcohol Ink - Burst of the SunflowerArtBring your creativity to life with the vibrant and playful medium of alcohol ink! In this class, you’ll learn how to create an abstract sunflower by layering inks for the center, shaping petals with a hand rubber blower, and adding depth with colorful highlights. Your instructor will guide you step by step as you make a 5” x 7” painting in your choice of colors. If time allows, you can create a second piece on either a white or black background. Alcohol ink is wonderfully forgiving—if you don’t love a section, simply wipe it away with isopropyl alcohol and try again. Come ready to explore, have fun, and take home a unique sunflower creation! Alcohol Ink: Glitter OrnamentsArtDo you want to make gorgeous one-of-a-kind ornaments for your tree or as an incredible gift? Join this class, to make 4 beautiful Alcohol Ink (AI) glass Glitter Ornaments After prepping the ornaments, the instructor will discuss and demo various processes of working with AI. Then you will pick colors of your choice to create unique ornament for yourself or as a gift. Note: Each ornament can reflect the same color scheme or each ornament can be a different color scheme. Totally your choice! The ornaments are painted on the inside so the colors will last forever. Supply fee payable to instructor the night of class: $20. Alcohol Ink: Loosey GooseyArtYou will be making three painting at the same time. This will allow the ink to dry before adding more ink. You will first make all the vases. Once those are dry, you will then add leaves to each vase. The last step is when you will add the flowers. Depending on the flowers, you might want to dry the painting between colors.Don’t worry about the dry time, these are alcohol ink and they dry very fast. Remember, this is the fun part -explore your creativity. Note: This class uses isopropyl alcohol. Supply fee: $15, payable to instructor at class. American Red Cross CPR, AED & First AidMind & BodyCPR/AED/First Aid (9:00 AM - 2:00 PM): This class combines CPR, AED and First Aid Training into one convenient session. Lay Responder CPR/AED with First Aid teaches the skills necessary to recognize and provide immediate care for breathing problems, cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until medical personnel arrive. Participants will be certified by the American Red Cross for: Standard First Aid and CPR/AED for adults, children and infants. This course meets the Rule 2 and 3 requirements for childcare providers. Intended Audience: Teachers, Daycare Providers, Coaches, Office Workers, new parents, or anyone who wants or needs to learn the life-saving skills of CPR and are not a healthcare professional (healthcare professionals are required to take the more advanced BLS Healthcare Provider CPR course).
