Curious about drones? This beginner-friendly class introduces you to the exciting world of aerial drones, also known as small unmanned aerial vehicles (sUAVs) or systems (sUAS). You'll learn: The wide range of drone uses—from recreation to commercial applications Types of drones, including DIY builds, FPV (first-person view), and ready-to-fly camera kits How to choose the right drone for your needs Where, when, and how to fly safely and legally Key airspace rules, FAA regulations, and practical safety tips An overview of drone registration, certification, and the FAA TRUST (Recreational UAS Safety Test) Weather permitting, a live drone demonstration will be included. If you already have a drone, feel free to bring it along! Participants under 18 must register and attend with a paid adult.
