Extreme Robo-Games: Battlebot Olympics with Tech AcademyScience & TechnologyStudents will team up in groups of two to three to explore the LEGO® Mindstorms robotic system and specialized Technic™ engineering components. Each day, they will design and program robots to take on exciting Olympic-style challenges that test strength, speed, and creativity. Family Lego NightEventsJoin us for an evening of creativity and teamwork at our Family LEGO Competition! This fun-filled event invites families to unleash their imagination and build unique creations using everyone's favorite building blocks. What to Expect: Team Challenges: Families will compete in various challenges, showcasing their LEGO building skills and creativity. Prizes: Exciting LEGO-themed prizes will be awarded to the winning team in each challenge. Family Fun: Enjoy activities for all ages! Registration: The cost to register is $50 per team. Only one participant needs to register for their family. Check-in will begin at 4:45pm and the first build competition will start at 5:00pm. Lego Swap: There will be a LEGO swap table at the event. Felted Bowls: Bits & PiecesArtLearn a clever new technique for wet felting with a resist and create a sturdy bowl to hold your keys, chocolates or simply to brighten up your creative space. Use bits and pieces of fabric, yarn, and fibers to decorate your bowl, inside and out. This is not Leslie’s popular vessels class. Here, you will expand your sculptural wet felting repertoire with this sturdier vessel-making technique while at the same time exploring color, texture and adding fun to your creative practice! Please note: some physical stamina needed for felting classes. Italian Pizzelles are a flat, anise-flavored cookie that may also be flavored with vanilla. Swedish Sandbakkelse are chewy and almond flavored and baked in tiny tins to resemble tarts. Finally, we will master deep fried Rosettes - fragile, paper thin Scandinavian delicacies dusted with confectioners sugar.
