Traditional Southern Cooking

Explore the rich, layered flavors of the Deep South in this hands-on cooking class. Shaped by influences from French, German, and Spanish settlers—along with West African, Cajun, and Caribbean traditions—Southern cuisine brings together bold ingredients and time-honored techniques.

In this memorable class, you’ll prepare a delicious spread featuring crab dip, classic cheese straws, gumbo, jambalaya, red beans and rice, buttermilk biscuits, cheese grits, pecan pralines, and traditional bread pudding with bourbon sauce.

Be sure to bring containers so you can take your homemade dishes to enjoy later!
