Henna Workshop with Acrylic Studio ArtCreative ArtsDiscover the rich culture of henna. Henna is a dye prepared from leaves of a henna tree also known as Egyptian privet. Henna is temporary body art resulting from the staining of the skin from the dyes. After stains reach their peak color, they hold for a few days, then gradually wear off, typically within two to three weeks. Learn the basics of henna tattoos and practice them. In this hands-on workshop, perfect for beginners and seasoned crafters alike, you will build a beautiful, rustic wooden Christmas tree sign from scratch. This class guides you through preparing and securing a multi-plank backing panel with structural cleats, then piecing together a precise chevron/herringbone tree layout using wooden slats. As you construct your piece, you'll apply a gentle white speckling technique to give the background a magical, starry-night finish. To finish the design, you will learn to integrate industrial mixed-media elements by adding a rebar trunk, a classic dimensional barn star topper, and silver tacks that beautifully simulate festive tree lights.By the end of the session, you’ll walk away with a professional-quality, ready-to-hang wall piece that makes a stunning statement in your home or serves as a thoughtful, handcrafted gift. Hips, Thighs & Otherwise! (Online Class)Mind & BodyWe have become a nation of professional sitters, causing lower body muscles to weaken and sag. In this workshop, you will learn: my famous ‘10 Minute Miracle Exercise’ series to strengthen lower body muscles quickly and, in the process, increase metabolism and bone density; decrease 2 inches off saddlebag area in 2 weeks; trim inches off lower body by getting rid of excess water weight; breathing technique to stimulate fat metabolism; acupressure points for lymph circulation and drainage. If you don’t have time, money, or inclination to haul yourself to a gym, you will love these powerful and effective techniques. Hmong 101 (Online Class)Personal InterestThe Hmong Cultural Center is excited to offer an engaging multicultural education presentation designed to provide valuable insight into Hmong history, culture, and the community’s contributions to the United States. This class will explore a range of topics that build a deeper understanding of the Hmong community, including an overview of Hmong history and the refugee experience that led to migration to the United States. Participants will also learn about key demographic trends and the diversity within the Hmong population. In addition, the course introduces foundational aspects of Hmong culture such as clans, religion, and health beliefs, along with basic language and greetings and practical cultural etiquette for effective engagement.
